The Yokai documented (so far)

Yokai (妖怪), or “supernatural spirits,” are a category of Japanese creatures that are hard to define. I have taken my own ideas and created a timeline that makes them less terrifying, and cruel than the traditional stories.

The Yokai in this story or period of art to me deifnes them as binary, neither good nor evil, but more tilting tht could even be benevolent to humans under the right circumstances.

There are evil worldly creatures in this story, mostly appear then disappear for instants or even creating mischief as they escape in the our world from their own. These creature would be more than happy to cause harm to our human society.

Nevertheless, the Yokai in this time period have taken the stance of standing up to these creatures and creating boundaries that they can not and may not pass. All over the city they exist in various states of knowing and protecting. The Earth and the world of the humans has become a place known that they can exist without being threatened or put in danger of non existence. The Bonzai Temple Shrines keep their life energy flowing and moving between living and dying. The constant flow of nature is known as balance and they have watching over this as we humans have failed in the past from this duty.
